Srinivas University organized National level e- conference entitled “EARLIER THE BETTER” –  RECENT TRENDS IN EARLY IDENTIFICATION AND PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT FOR THE HIGH-RISK MOTHER & BABY”

College of Physiotherapy under the banner of Srinivas University organized One day National level e- conference entitled “EARLIER THE BETTER” –  RECENT TRENDS IN EARLY IDENTIFICATION AND PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT FOR THE HIGH-RISK MOTHER & BABY” on 26th June 2021. The conference started with a Pre-Inaugural session at 9am by Dr. Lynsel Teixeira, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Mukka on “Maternal Diseases that affect Fetal Development”.

Over 100 delegates participated from various parts of the country. Followed by the 1st session we had the inaugural ceremony and Dr.S.Rajasekar, Dean and Chairperson, College of physiotherapy delivered the welcome address. Conference Briefing was given by Dr. Sanya A, Secretary, E- conference mentioning the importance of rehabilitation in maternal and child care. The Chief guest and inaugurator of the event, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao enlightened the delegates with his virtual presence and speech.

The post inaugural session was taken by Dr. Sandeep Kadam , KEM Hospital, Pune on “Medical Advances in NICU” followed by Dr. Vinod Prem Singh, Medical Superintendent, Srinivas Hospital, Mukka who spoke on “Surgical Management of the High-Risk Infants”. The post lunch session was taken over by Dr. Preetha.R, Manipal College of Health Professions, Manipal on “Importance of Physiotherapy in high-risk pregnancies”. Followed by this we had a session by Dr. Puja Padbidri, Founder Baby Shastra, Pune on “Physiotherapy Management in NICU”.

The final session was given by Dr. Sanya A., College of Physiotherapy, Mangalore who spoke about “Effects of Early Intervention in Preventing Disabilities and improving quality of life”. The Conference concluded with announcement of the poster presentation results and finally the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Radhika Gopal. S, Joint Secretary, E- Conference.
