India prepares to host the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on 12–13 September 2026, bringing together Leaders of BRICS Member and Partner Countries as well as Outreach Invitees.
As a founding member and Chair of BRICS for the fourth time, India takes forward this responsibility at an important moment in the evolution of a platform that today brings together 11 Member Countries and 10 Partner Countries, representing nearly half of the world’s population and around 40% of global GDP.
Under the theme Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability, India’s BRICS Chairship 2026 is advancing a people-centric, Humanity First approach, deepening dialogue, building consensus and translating shared priorities into meaningful action.
Across trade and finance, health, agriculture, energy, MSMEs, science, digital capacity, Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, resilient supply chains, customs and standards, traditional medicine and mental wellness, the emphasis is on practical cooperation that delivers tangible benefits.
India’s Chairship is also advancing stronger institutions, reform of global governance and deeper people-to-people engagement, while amplifying the voice and aspirations of the Global South. Innovation must serve people, resilience must be built before crises arise, and sustainability must translate into opportunities and better lives.
The 18th BRICS Summit is an opportunity to build on a year of sustained engagement, deepen partnerships and shape stronger frameworks for the next decade and beyond.
