New Delhi, June 7: Ajay Purushotham Shetty participated in Vichar Yatra 2026 – Mock Youth Parliament at Satyagraha Mandap, Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, where he interacted with students, delegates and young leaders from across the country on the themes of leadership, innovation and economic growth.
During the session, Shetty highlighted the importance of strengthening India’s manufacturing sector alongside its established services economy. Emphasising the vision of Make in India and Make for the World, he stated that reducing import dependence, increasing exports and creating greater value within the country would be essential for India’s long-term economic prosperity.

Addressing the role of technology in nation-building, he stressed that technological advancement must empower the next generation to become creators, innovators and problem-solvers rather than passive consumers. He noted that India’s demographic dividend could become one of the country’s greatest strengths if supported by education, innovation, discipline and purpose.
Speaking on energy security, Shetty underlined the need for a balanced energy strategy combining renewable sources such as solar power with nuclear energy. Referring to the recent milestone achieved by the Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam, he described it as a significant example of India’s growing scientific capabilities and commitment to long-term energy security.
A recurring theme of the interaction was the importance of prioritising national interests through support for Indian enterprise, local industries, innovation and employment generation. He encouraged young citizens to contribute to national development through responsible choices in business, consumption, tourism and entrepreneurship.
The discussion also focused on the role of cultural values, spirituality and character in leadership. Shetty observed that economic progress and technological advancement must be accompanied by integrity, responsibility and a commitment to public service.
The session commenced with the recitation of the Surya Mantra composed by Bhagwan Veda Vyasa and reflections on the significance of Bhanu Saptami. Prayers were offered for the youth of Bharat to be blessed with wisdom, resilience, character and a spirit of service towards the nation.
Shetty was presented with a memento by Shri Sumant Kumar, Chief Advisor, Vichar Yatra, in recognition of his participation in the programme.
The event brought together students, aspiring leaders and delegates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, providing a platform for dialogue, debate and the exchange of ideas.
