Three Prestigious International Awards Recognize Excellence in Higher Education, Research and Industry-Integrated Technical Education
Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Mangaluru, and Srinivas University have once again brought international recognition to Karnataka’s higher education sector by receiving three prestigious global awards at the Global Education Summit 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Over the years, Srinivas University and Srinivas Institute of Technology have emerged as leading centres of academic excellence, innovation, research, and industry-integrated education. With a strong emphasis on employability, skill development, entrepreneurship, and global exposure, the institutions have established collaborations with leading multinational organizations including TCS, Microsoft, IBM, Google, Intel, and UiPath.
The university has pioneered several future-focused academic initiatives, including Karnataka’s first B.Tech programme in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, alongside specialized programmes in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cloud Computing, Ethical Hacking, Cyber Security, and Marine Engineering. Through the CA A. Raghavendra Rao Centre for Future Skill Lab, established in collaboration with Ethnotech and NSDC, students are equipped with globally relevant industry skills.
Srinivas University has also made remarkable contributions to research and innovation, with 593 copyrights, 28 granted patents, over 157 patent publications, and more than 2,000 research papers published in international journals. The institution has secured research funding exceeding ₹15 crore from organizations such as AICTE, ISRO, DST, and KSCST, reflecting its growing global research footprint.
Continuing this journey of excellence, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, and Dr. Dheeraj Hebri, Training and Placement Officer, represented the institution at the Global Education Summit organized in association with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), Siam University, Bangkok University, and Eduskills Foundation.
The summit brought together distinguished academic leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and researchers from India and Thailand to discuss innovative approaches to higher education, future workforce development, global academic mobility, and industry-driven learning.

During the summit, prominent global education leaders shared their perspectives on the future of international education. Mr. Atit Koirala, Assistant Vice President of Dhurakij Pundit University, emphasized the importance of multicultural learning and international exposure. Dr. Yhing Sawheny, Director of Siam University, highlighted the growing opportunities arising from India–Thailand educational partnerships.
As part of the summit programme, the Srinivas University delegation visited leading universities in Thailand and engaged in extensive discussions with academic leaders, researchers, and students. The interactions focused on student exchange programmes, faculty mobility, international internships, collaborative research projects, higher education pathways, innovation ecosystems, and global placement opportunities for students.
